Main Street Salinas will once again play host to the Forbes AgTech Summit, June 26-27, 2019. The summit will bring more than 600 global agriculture leaders and entrepreneurs together to analyze some of the most pressing challenges facing the industry. This year’s theme – The Future of Food – will explore ways in which advancements in agtech can work to produce 70% more food by 2050 in order to feed the world’s rapidly growing population.
This year’s summit will feature Driscoll’s, one of the Salinas Valley’s largest agriculture companies, and some of the best in the field will discuss agtech trends ranging from precision farming and blockchain to drones to AI.

Headline speakers at the summit include Ertharin Cousin, Former Ambassador to the United Nations World Food Programme and Distinguished Fellow at the Center on Food Security and the Environment; Steve Forbes, Chairman & Editor-In-Chief of Forbes Media; and Beth Ford, President and CEO of Land O’ Lakes, Inc. Salinas and Silicon Valley agtech leaders who will be speaking this year include Tom Nassif, President and CEO of Western Growers Association; Thomas Palomares, Cofounder and Chief Technology Officer of FarmWise; Joe Pezzini, President & CEO of Ocean Mist Farms and John Hartnett, founding partner at SVG Partners.
Sessions for the 2019 AgTech Summit will include “How to Cultivate the Next Generation of Leadership in Farming,” “The Implications of Automation,” “Eyes In The Sky: Using Drones, Satellites and AI To Monitor Farms” and more. And as in previous years, the THRIVE AgTech Accelerator will also host Demo Day on Wednesday, June 26, where startups in the THRIVE V cohort will present their work to investors, partners and media members.
