Salinas-based Western Growers Center for Innovation & Technology (WGCIT) this month celebrated its three-year anniversary. To celebrate the milestone, WGCIT leaders hosted an exclusive event that included a fireside chat surrounding the state of the agricultural industry, and the unveiling of the following new initiatives:
The anniversary event drew more than 40 growers, agtech startup companies, venture capitalists and ag stakeholders.
Since its launch, WGCIT has grown from six to more than 50 startup companies, and those startups have connected with more than 4,000 growers, created 180 new jobs and raised $84 million in investments. You can read more about the WGCIT here and read the full news release here.
